Ann GELINAS Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Ann Gelinas announces her passing on October 20, 2015 at the age of 79. With her loving husband of 55 years, Roger by her side, Ann was called to be with the Lord.
Ann will be lovingly remembered by her spouse, Roger; five children, Barry (Brandy), John (Jackie), Gary (Sherré), Leanne (Michael) Comeau, Roger Jr "RJ" (Michelle); twelve grandchildren; one great- granddaughter; sister, Ollie (John) Ryan; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Ann was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Hutnan; siblings, Helen Tkach, Michael, Paul (Sheila), Mary (Joe) Fellner, Emil, Irene (Doug) Griffith, John, Veronyka and Joseph.
Ann graduated from the Misericordia Nursing class of 1959 and continued her nursing career for 53 years at the Misericordia. She touched many lives with her gentle smile, loving hands and her big hugs. Ann was professional, compassionate, and a dedicated nurse to the end. For the last few years before she retired, Ann worked at the Cardiac Pacemaker Clinic.
A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 26, 2015, at Annunciation Church, 9420 – 163 Street NW, Edmonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at St. Joseph's Basilica, 10044 – 113 Street, Edmonton.
The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Ranieri for his years of care, as well as the staff on Unit 9Y at the Edmonton General Hospital. Your professional and compassionate care was outstanding.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ann's name to Unit 9Y, Edmonton General Hospital, Caritas Foundation, 3C60-11111 Jasper Ave NW, Edmonton, AB, T5K 0L4.

Hi roger-- just heard about Ann. Donna & my condolences. We had a lot in common & did many things together. I recall the time you & Ann planted a garden at the farm, the cattle got in & ate all the tops of the carrots & only the vegetables underground remained but you salvaged them. We should meet again for coffee soon.

Roger and family - I worked with Ann when she would come in to Family Medicine Centre to work. She had an incredible strength and gentleness and she touched so many lives. She was so very proud of her children and grandchildren. Ann will be missed but she is now at Rest.

Dearest Roger and Family, We are sorry to see Ann leave. She was a pillar of strength. Her strength was a gift she gave to you all to be able to manage without her, as difficult as that will be. I am truly sorry to hear of Ann's passing. I have very fond memories when Ann & I cheered at our sons football games with our faces painted, snuggled under warm sleeping bags, drinking hot chocolate, squeezing bicycle horns & shaking a cow bell. Ann was a great wife, terrific mother & grandmother & a dear friend. I will always treasure the many years that I have known this lady.

I am truly sorry to hear this sad news. My heart goes out to Roger & all the family. I have very fond memories of Ann over the many years I've known her. Sitting on bleachers in the football bowl at the Johnny Bright Park snuggled up together in sleeping bags drinking our hot chocolate cheering our boys on during their football games, our faces painted & waving our homemade pom poms. The list is endless of the memories. May the angels & butterflies be at your side always.
