My big sister always made me feel special. I think of her often and have two photos of her and one of her paintings hanging in my apartment. One photo of her wedding picture is in my bedroom. One picture of her with my brother Tom and sister Marie hangs in the main hallway. A beautiful painting she did of my brother and myself playing chess in my parents' backyard in Douglaston hangs in the living room. I miss her especially on the first of June when I would call her on her birthday.

I am happy to say that I was the first member of the Peterson or Murphy families to welcome Ann to beautiful California. I was stationed at the Marine Corps base in Barstow, California, in the early 1960s when Ann and her girlfriend drove cross country from Douglaston, NY to California on the way to her new life out west. They stopped by to have dinner with me at the Officer's club befoire heading north. I wanted to join our mother and father at Ann and Walt's wedding but was stationed at Vietnam at the time. We all enjoyed our few visits to Pinole, as they enjoyed their visits back east. We are sending our deepest condolensces to Walt, Christine, Jim and their families.

I couldn't have had a more caring/kind, and loving big sister
