Lisa, I was sad to learn of your mother's passing away; I remember my sister telling me that you were very close to her. I hope we can see each other again some beautiful day in Austin. Take care of yourself and know that a good friend from Weslaco continues to think about you often. Alberto Canales

Dear Lisa, just read about your Mom's passing. So sorry for your loss, but grateful you had her for so many years. It was a beautiful picture of her that you used. Take care.

Dear Lisa, Martha & Family - It brought me great sorrow to learn of the passing of your Mom, "Nana", and my cousin Ann... She was such a delight... I didn't make it to Texas often, but when I did, I tried to visit her when I could and certainly enjoyed our time together whenever we were able to make it happen... I think Jane, Kay, and Ann P. are the last of the first cousins, so we need to appreciate them as much as we can while they are still with us... Our thoughts are with you across the miles & much love, from Marian "Mamie"'s daughter,

Dear Lisa, Martha and Schaffer and Family,

I was saddened to just now learn of Ann's passing. Like your mom, I was one of the founding members of St. John Neumann Catholic Church and over the past 34 years I saw your mom countless times at our church services. In fact, for many of those years we sat in the same sections of the church, so I would see her quite often.

Although quiet and unassuming at mass, your mom always stood in the crowd for her sweet smile, perfect posture and elegant fashion sense, including her beautiful hats which she wore with great style and grace. She actually reminded me of one of my own family members, which caused me to look for her at church. Ann literally exuded warmth and spirituality to all around her.

I will miss seeing her at mass but feel certain she will be looking down on your family and all of us at SJN from Heaven. Please know you are in my prayers during this sad time for your family.

God Bless, August Petersen, founding chairman and member of SJN

My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there is a hope for our love ones lost in death can be reassuring.
