Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 25, 2022 to Jan. 20, 2023.
Artist Ann Ter-Pogossian died at age 90 on April 17, 2022, leaving behind rich collection of oil paintings. She grew up in St. Louis, graduated from John Burroughs School and received both her BFA and MFA cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis. She is the author of "African Tribes as Represented in Egyptian Art". She lived and had her studio in her homes in Saint Louis, Missouri and Liberty Corner, New Jersey.

In her early years she documented the architectural history and development of downtown Saint Louis. Her later work is significant for its visual commentary about the role of women in society. She painted landscapes, still lifes, portraits, figures in motion, and sharp visual critiques of current events. Her paintings were exhibited in museums, international exhibitions and galleries in Saint Louis, , Kansas City, Paris, France, Boston,New York City, London, England, Florence, Italy and Barcelona, Spain. Her works are included in the curated collections of businesses, hospitals and other public institutions. In 2003, she received the Florence Biennale Medici Medal for Premerio alla Carriera (President's First Lifetime Career).

Ann was an elegant, opinionated and sometimes irascible woman who loved to host small gourmet dinners with excellent wines and her superb dishes in her home filled with art and antiques. She loved to travel and would regale all with her adventures of big game hunting, scuba diving, and her participation in the Florence Biennale in 2003 and 2005. In later years, she directed her artistic talents to knitting thousands of funky soft sparkly, colorful hats, which she donated to hospitals and shelters, and which were proudly worn by her family and friends.

She was predeceased by husbands, Rowland Dodson and Michel Ter-Pogossian and her brother. She is survived by her daughter, Ella Dodson, her grandchildren, Tim, Paul, Alanna, Rebecca, Kelsey, Avi, Isaac, and Anna, her great-grandchildren, Leah, Natalia, Charley and Tessa, and multiple nieces and nephews.
