Ann Sheptak Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 23, 2024.
Ann Meredith Sheptak, a cherished wife, mother, and friend, passed away on November 18, 2024, at Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, Texas, with her devoted husband by her side. Born on January 19, 1936, in Dallas, Texas, to Marian and James Logan, Ann was a beacon of grace, compassion, and love throughout her 88 years.

Ann grew up in Dallas, graduating from North Dallas High School. She married her childhood neighbor, Jim Mistrot, with whom she had five children. In 1992, she found her soulmate in George Sheptak, with whom she shared a life filled with joy, companionship, and mutual support.

In her early years, Ann dedicated herself to her family as a housewife and mother. Demonstrating remarkable determination, she later pursued higher education, becoming a certified public accountant at the age of 57. Ann excelled in her profession, serving as an accomplished accountant and financial planner until her passing.

A passionate dog lover, Ann cherished her Shih Tzus, affectionately known as her "fur babies." She and George enjoyed an active lifestyle, working out with their personal trainer, hosting gatherings in their west Houston home, and traveling.

Ann was the last of her generation in the Logan family, preceded in death by her parents and brother, William Harry Logan. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by her children Larry Mistrot (Rebecca), Lesli Mistrot Tentinger (Kurt), John Mistrot (Melanie), Mark Mistrot (Stefanie), and Michael Mistrot (Selena), along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also embraced Jim's step-children, Greg Jannasch (Margarita), Charlyn Jannasch Ray (Jackson), and Danice Oliver (David).

A memorial service will be held on December 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at River Pointe Church, Richmond, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lone Star Shih Tzu Rescue - http://www.shihtzu-rescue.com/
