Ann Wodarczyk Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 19, 2024.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ann Wodarczyk; a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a cherished friend of the Sunbird Community. Ann passed away peacefully on June 14, 2024; surrounded by her loving family.

Ann was born on August 26, 1934 in Chicago. She was one of five children. Ann's early years were filled with the warmth and close bonds of her large family. As a young girl, Ann worked at the candy counter at the nearby movie theater where she met the love of her life Robert Wodarczyk, Sr.

On June 2, 1956, Ann married Robert and began their life together in Chicago and later settled in the suburbs, where they raised their two children Robert, Jr. and John. Together they embarked on a journey that would take them from the bustling streets of Chicago to the serene landscapes of Arizona. In 1986, they retired in Chandler, where they enjoyed golfing, dancing, traveling and spending time with friends.

Ann was known for her kind spirit, generosity, and unwavering dedication to her church. An avid golfer, Ann played in several leagues at Sunbird Golf Resort. She was also a talented cook, and her family will forever cherish the memories of her delicious holiday dinners.

Ann is preceded in death by her husband Robert, Sr., her brother Martin, and sister Dolores. Ann is survived by her sons Robert, Jr. from Texas and John (Michelle) from Michigan; her granddaughter Andrea from Florida; her grandson Alex (Joia) from Wisconsin; her granddaughter Ellie (Eric) from Texas; and her two great grandchildren, Matthew and Archer who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her sisters; Janie and Noreen and her nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.

Ann's legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

So many great memories with Auntie Ann, Uncle Bob and the boys. The visits to our home in Minnesota were the best of times. I would always cry when they left, but looked forward to the next visit. I am crying now, but know we will be together again.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Bobby, John and family.
Love
Sherry and Ken Jokinen

Such a tried and truly beautiful friend she was to us. Annie was always so much fun. Never forget the night she and Woody told us a hysterical story about her sister. I have never laughed so hard in my life. My friend, I will always hold you in my heart and I want to thank you for the phone call last week. God has taken you home to be with Woody! May you rest in His peace
