I was very sorry to hear of the passing of "Aunt Doc." I didn't know her well but was very impressed by her warmth and elegance during the couple of visits I had with her. I know she will be missed very much.

My heart breaks to think Dr. Connell is no longer here. She delivered my two sons so many years ago and I was in awe of her. I was young and she made me feel special and I always felt everything would be fine when I saw her. A truly good doctor that is so rare to find. If you knew her it was to love her for caring and the Christian in her showed. Thank the Lord she and I crossed paths on our journeys in this world. I was awarded her scholarship this past year at SFA. I'm truly blessed by her, and she is an inspiration for me to accomplish my dreams as a future dietitian and M.D.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Connell. She was really good to my oldest sister for several years, and we truly appreciate her kindness. We will pray for your comfort and peace.

I was fortunate to know Dr. Connell when I worked at PineCrest Retirement Community in Lufkin. What a special woman, and a life well-lived. I was struck by the number of people who would come to visit other friends and relatives and see Dr. Connell out of the corner of their eye. They'd ask, "Is that Dr. Connell? She delivered all my children. What a wonderful doctor she was." I never heard an unkind word from her, and she was always the voice of reason in difficult situations. She touched the lives of so many during her life, and left this world a better place.

Thank you Dr. Connell for delivering me into this world. I am grateful to you and my Mother. You were always a great friend and comfort to my Mother, JoAnn Nerren. May you rest in peace and be a great comfort to Spirits in Heaven.

Dr. Connell treated my daughter, Emily, and I to breakfast on many occasions. When we came to Lufkin we always wanted to spend time with Dr. Connell. She was a friend to us, but also seemed like a grandmother to us. She was so wise and so kind. We will miss her more than we can express.

THE HAND THAT IS TYPING THIS WOULDN'T BE ALIVE, NOR MY DAUGHTER WHO IS WITH HER CHILDREN AT A SOCCER TOURNAMENT TODAY..IF NOT FOR DR. ANNA BELLE..SHE WAS MY GRANDMOTHERS DOCTOR, MY MOTHERS, MYSELF, & MY DAUGHTERS WHO SHE DELIVERED..I'M SO GLAD SHE WAS MY DOCTOR IN 1970..AND FOLLOWED HER GUT INSTINCT ABOUT ME..WORDS COULD NEVER THANK HER ENOUGH...NOT ONLY FOR BEING MY DOCTOR. BUT SHE WENT THE EXTRA MILE FOR ME..COMING TO THE HOSPITAL AT 2AM ON A VERY STORMY MORNING & STAYING WITH ME UNTIL I COULD CALM DOWN...I HAD 4 POST-PARTUM HEMORRHAGE AND SHE WAS THERE EVERY STEP OF THE WAY..THEY DON'T MAKE DOCTOR'S LIKE HER ANY MORE..MAY THE LORD BLESS HER FAMILY..FOR THE WORLD HAS LOST A WONDERFUL HUMAN BEING..

Dr. Connell a true community visionary and sincere inspiration. Her life, leadership and love defines her legacy as she was devoted to Lufkin. Dr. Connell is a lifetime mentor and I am personally honored to have shared her love...I express my sincere condolence to the family of the beautiful Dr. Connell and it is my prayer that you all will be comforted in knowing that her remarkable compassion lives in so many members of this rich community. My family is so saddened by this loss as we feel that Dr. Connell was like a member of our family. My mother, Marion Modisette and she forged a lifelong friendship based upon love, loyalty, and mutual respect. Our deep condolences to the family.

Dr. Connell was my mother's doctor and delivered me and most of my cousins. She was a pioneer. What a great legacy she leaves. Even in her later years she knew me and would ask about my mom. She was a great woman and will be missed.

Dr. Connell was my Mother's physician in the late 50s and early 60s. Mom always spoke very highly of her.

I am so sad that Dr. Connell has passed. She was a wonderful doctor and delivered both of my boys. I was a very young parent and she just kept up the encouragement! I am so glad she came into my life and I did feel her influence. God bless the family.

I was 7 years old when we moved to Lufkin in 1955. My brother & I were some of her first patients. She delivered my daughter in 1980. She will be missed.

She was a God Send to our family. My mom , sisters, and delivered my 2 girls. To the family : an outstanding blessed woman who blessed all.

Dr. Connell delivered both of my children (born in 1969 & 1971) and I was a very young parent. Her encouraging words of wisdom have stuck with me all of my life. Dr Connell was my dr from the time I married until her retirement. I loved her dearly. She always asked about my kids every time I saw her. Called them by name! She will be missed. Another chapter closed

Wonderful lady deserving of Heavens reward for being so gracious to so many.

It seems a chapter of my childhood has closed with the passing of Dr. Connell. I was a patient and also knew the Heermans. May the dear lady enjoy her heavenly rest.
