Anna Zoglo Filo

FILO Anna Zoglo Filo, age 89, of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, beloved wife to the late Joseph Filo died on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born and raised in New London, Anna lived in Bridgeport for 65 years, and was a retired employee of Harvey Hubbell Company. Anna was a member of St. Ann Church, where she was involved in the St. Ann Seniors, the Resurrection Choir, Ladies Guild, and often volunteered for various parish events. She was also a member of the Black Rock Seniors where she enthusiasticly performed line dancing. A warm, outgoing person, Anna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Among the many wonderful memories of Anna will be the delicious homemade cooked and baked items she would share with her family and friends, including her special Stuffed Cabbage. She will be remembered by her daughter, JoAnna Frye, and husband, John, of Fairfield; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Filo, of Black Rock; seven grandchildren, Robert Filo, of Shelton, Colleen Filo and Mary Filo, both of Black Rock, Kevin Filo, of Bridgeport, Matthew Frye, of Wilmington, NC, B.Z. Frye, of San Diego, CA, Susan Frye, of Fairfield; two grandchildren, Terry McCarthy, Michaela MacDonald. In addition to her husband, Joseph, Anna was predeceased by her son, Terry Filo. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at 10:15 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center, and at 11 a.m. at St. Ann Church, Bridgeport. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery.
