Anna Gariepy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 15, 2025.
Anna Isabella Gariepy passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, May 24, 2025, in Newark, Delaware, at the age of 98.

She is survived by her son, Robert F. Gariepy Jr. and his wife, Leslye; her daughter, Carol Janas, the wife of the late Edward Janas; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Anna was born and raised in Havertown, Pennsylvania. As a young woman, she left her home state to marry the love of her life, of 70 years, the late Robert (Bob) F. Gariepy. Together, Anna and Bob built a life filled with hard work, family, and an entrepreneurial spirit. They settled in Lowell, Massachusetts, where they founded and operated family businesses, including Excel Tire and Dracut Auto Parts. Their ventures later expanded to Wells, Maine, where they created the beloved Sun N Sea Village. They also enjoyed time in Florida, spending the past 20+ years in Juno Beach, where they developed cherished friendships with caring and thoughtful neighbors.

The family businesses and labor of love that Anna and Bob created together were not just places of work; they were the heart of countless special memories for their family. Anna will be remembered for her unwavering determination, strong work ethic, steadfast spirit, and the proud German heritage she embodied. She was well-known for her famous corn chowder and baked macaroni, family favorites, and her unmistakable love for gambling; she was still visiting casinos at the age of 97!

Anna's steadfastness and quiet strength touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
