RUNDQUIST, ANNA LAVERN, 76, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2006. She was born in Huntington Beach, California, to Vernon and Edith B. Williams, on March 13, 1930. She grew up in Harlingen, Texas, graduating from Harlingen High School and attended Mary Hardin Baylor College, New Braunfels, Texas. Anna taught school in Progresso, Texas before switching to Radio and Television marketing, as well as on screen talent. Additionally, she worked with her mother, Edith, at her better dress store, Young Fashions of Laurel Park in Harlingen, Texas. In 1956 she met and married 2/Lt. Peter Anton Rundquist, a graduated of the Basic Observer/Navigator Course at Harlingen AFB. They attended service schools at James Connelly AFB, Waco, Texas and Moody AFB, Valdosta, Georgia before going to their first assignment at Elmendorf AFB, Anchorage, Alaska. Son, Peter Anton, Jr. was born there. The next duty station was at Ellsworth AFB, Rapid City, South Dakota. Son, James Howard and daughter, Mary Catherine were born there. Numerous stateside and overseas assignments followed. Retiring from the Air Force in 1970, the family departed Hickam AFB, Honolulu, Hawaii, flying to Osaka, Japan for "Expo 70", then to Manila in the Philippine Islands and on to Bangkok, Thailand. They then returned to Orlando and their retirement home on Lake Conway. Anna returned to part time teaching, at Walker Middle School for several years. She considered her five grandchildren her greatest legacy. James' two sons, James

Jonathan Gunnar Rundquist, live in Acworth, Georgia. Mary Catherine Miller's daughter, Caurie Lyn Miller and twins, Amanda Rae Miller and Glen Raymond Miller, Jr., reside in Orlando. Anna is survived by her immediate family, brother, James Williams of Woodsboro, Texas and his children in the Rio Grand Valley of Texas. A memorial service will be held 10AM, Monday, November 6, 2006 at The First Baptist Church of Pinecastle in Orlando. Donations may be made to The American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. Arrangements entrusted to Robert Bryant Funeral & Cremation Chapel of Orlando, 407240-6080.
