Anna Marie Sanchez

Daughter, sister, mother, & grandmother Anna Marie Sanchez passed away at Parkland Hospital on June 26, 2022, at age 61. She was born in Dallas, Texas on July 13, 1960, to Delfino Lopez Sanchez & Anna Hernandez. As a child, Anna was a Brownie Scout & Girl Scout who loved to spend the day climbing trees & jumping rope.

She attended North Dallas High School & was a cadet in the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps. She also attended Thomas Jefferson High School & was crowned Military Ball Queen at the 21st Annual Thomas Jefferson Military Ball on February 25th, 1978 & graduated from Saint Ann's Catholic School. She participated in the Dallas Service, Employment, Redevelopment program & the Job Corps program. She attended El Centro Community College in 1982 for Psychology & Dance & Richland Community College. She graduated from the Barbizon Modeling School & had a brief stint as a model. Anna spent her early professional career as an administrative assistant for Enso Oil, Nielsen Media Research, & the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. She had a professional membership with the Texas Notary Public Association & was a Notary Public for the State of Texas. She began a career at Computer Science Corporation in 2001 where she worked as a Senior Accountant, receiving multiple promotions & awards for service during a career that lasted 21 years.

Anna was a baptized member of Midway Hills Christian Church where she was active for 16 years. She volunteered in the nursery, as a children's church teacher & enjoyed hosting fellowship when she could. Anna especially enjoyed spending this time with her grandchildren. Her favorite church holiday was Palm Sunday, as she loved watching the children parading in with noise, joy, & love. Anna's faith was important to her throughout her life, & she often thanked her grandmother & grandfather for instilling a love of the church community in her heart.

She had plenty of favorite films & movies including The Twilight Zone, Little House on The Prairie, That 70s Show, & Cheaters. She'd often watch Blast From the Past, La Bamba, & The Sound of Music. However, The Wizard of Oz held a special place in her heart. She had a love of music & her children recall her singing & playing guitar, strumming along to Linda Ronstadt's version of Desperado. Her favorite musicians included Norah Jones, Selena, & Mariah Carey.

Anna was a lover & a fighter, a survivor many times over, generous & unrelentingly supportive. She was loving & loved in return. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

Anna was preceded in death by her father Delfino Lopez Sanchez, & grandparents Faustina & Jose Mejia Hernandez. Survivors are son Christopher Sanchez; daughters Christina Marie & Matthew Rosemann, Victoria Sanchez-Brown & Clint Weathers, Tiffany Marie & Cris Weatherly; grandchildren Isaiah Sanchez, Destany Sanchez, Caylee Sanchez, Mia Sanchez, Emma Weatherly, Elizabeth Weatherly; mother Anna Hernandez; sisters Diane & Daniel Salazar, Delia & Peter Stein.

Her celebration of life memorial service will take place at a later date.
