ANNA MARGARET WILEY SCHMIDT

SCHMIDT, Anna Margaret Willey, died March 2, 2013. She was born December 2, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Clarke Randolph Willey and Hattie Mays Willey. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarke Willey Jr. and Lt. Col. Burr McBride Willey; and her husband, Richard E. Schmidt. She became a medic serving her country in the States and Brisbane Australia, in the Womens Army Corps. She loved music, especially of the 40s and 50s. She loved the music and movies of Rodgers and Hammerstein. She sang in her church choir, Army choir, and was a former member of the "Sweet Adelines." She is survived by her daughter, Kay Reed and her husband, Don; two sons, David Schmidt and wife, Cynthia, Charles Schmidt and wife, Carrie; four grandchildren, Clarke Boehling, Robin Boehling, Travis Schmidt and Berkley Schmidt. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. A graveside service will be held Friday, March 8, at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Richmond SPCA, 2519 Hermitage Rd., Richmond, Va. 23220.
