ANNA MARIE (MULLIGAN)
On October 19, 2014, age 89. Beloved wife of the late John H. "Jack" Tepe, Sr., died peacefully at home, surrounded by family. Loving mother of Mary Ann Buczynski (Randy), Peg Smith, Clare Mazzarini (Dan), John H. "Jack" Tepe, Jr. (the late Laurie Bridwell), William C. "Bill" Tepe (Tricia Connelly), James M. "Jim" Tepe (Karen Kunold), Patty Palmer (Mark), and Dr. Paul G. Tepe (Michelle Vitori); grandmother to 19 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren, and known as "Mom Tepe" by many. Beloved mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend, and caregiver, Anna Marie was a true "Guardian Angel" to more people than we can count. Nothing in life gave her greater joy than spending time with family and friends. A longtime resident of Brookline and Dormont, Anna Marie was a 20 year resident of Canongate Apartments in Whitehall prior to residing with her eldest daughter and her husband. Anna Marie and Jack Tepe were founding parishioners of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Brookline, and later, she belonged to St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Catholic Church. She was a member of the Christian Mothers, the Dormont AARP, and a longtime volunteer at UPMC Mercy Hospital. Family and friends welcome on Thursday, October 23, 2014, 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, (412-563-2800), 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church in Whitehall, 10 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2014.

To The Tepe Family, Just recently heard of the passing of Mrs. Tepe. Please accept my sincere and heartfelt sympathy. We were neighbors on Espy Ave. I remember her calm and easy going personality. She was a gentle spirit and a lovely lady. She and her husband left a beautiful and fruitful legacy of a good family. God Bless her as she now rests in the loving arms of Jesus, The Christ.

We will fondly remember the time we were privileged to stay with Anna Marie at the Buczynski Marco home while MaryAnn flew to Pittsburgh to attend services for a close friend. During those days, we shared many laughs, delicious meals, card games, and the joys of grandchildren with Anna Marie. She was a very gracious lady, with a charming sense of humor. Our daughter, Julie, feels that she, too, has lost a grandmother. We thank God that Julie is part of such a wonderful family that Anna Marie has branched. May all of us continue the Christian example Anna Marie lived.

I was blessed in working with Anna Marie for several years as she volunteered here at UPMC Mercy. She was an amazing woman, very proud of her children and grandchildren, and just a wonderful person to be around. She will be sorely missed by all, but she's in Heaven with our Heavenly Father. Mary Ann, I was so sorry to learn about your loss when I was reading the obituaries today. I have not seen you for many years but my heart goes out to you and your family. I remember your mom from our high school days! My mom passed away last year at 97 and I think of her every single day. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

How many fond memories I have of being in your house on Berkshire Avenue during the years we lived across the street, where I was always made to feel like part of the family by your Mom. Dear Tepe Family I am so sorry to learn of your mom's death. Oh, the memories I have with her and my mother. They were quite the pair. I remember so many rides in the station wagon, and times at your house and ours, and then the later years, and the plays and such at South Catholic and Seton years. Anna Marie was a kind caring person with a big smile for all. I met her at St. Pius in 1959 when we were Christian Mothers together. I'll always remember her in prayers on October 19 as that is the anniversary of the death of my loving husband Jim. (2010)

I remember so many visits to her home in Brookline and then in Dormont. She always said, "Stay for dinner." Hospitality and generosity were woven into every part of her life. Her husband and children and grandchildren were at its core; but extended family and friends were always welcome in. My prayers are with all those who will miss her so much.
