Anna Wiebe Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 12, 2011.
Anna Janzen Wiebe March 19, 1922 June 27, 2011 Ann was born in Russia and moved to Saskatchewan with her parents in 1924. She was the daughter of Rev. John and Justina Janzen. She grew up at Glenbush where she received her education in the Avery School. She attended Rosthern Bible School for one year. In 1945 she started work in Saskatoon and was married to Peter Wiebe a year later. Shortly after that they moved to Richmond, BC where they enjoyed a good life for many years. After Peters' death in 1995 Ann moved to Salt Spring Island to be near her son and his wife. Beloved wife of Peter Paul Wiebe (deceased) and mother to John Peter (Cheryl Huseby Wiebe), passed in the same humble and honourable way she lived. A quiet woman, she was not known to many, but those who did get to know her considered her as family, and with those, she showed her love by always being there and doing and helping. She was a very modest woman who under-appreciated the constant support and consideration others knew her for. As was her way, to the end, she demanded little of those who cared for her and always put the needs of others before her own. Hers was a level of humility to which many aspire. She will be deeply missed. Also mourning her passing are four sisters, Erna Janzen, Winnipeg, Clara (Benno) Kroeker, Saskatoon, Mary Parei, Winnipeg, Katie (Jake) Baerg, Abbotsford and two brothers, Jake (Tina) Janzen, Abbotsford, George (Helen) Janzen, Winnipeg; and Peters' sisters, Elizabeth Wiebe (Jack) Picketts, Asquith, Katherine Wiebe Boldt, Osler, and brother John (Anita) Wiebe, Calgary.
