Annalu Wright Schirm

SCHIRM Annalu Wright Schirm, 89, of Canal Winchester, born January 15, 1918, in Frankfort, OH, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2007, at Winchester Place. She is survived by her loving daughter, Nancy Schirm Wright; grandson, Richard A. Wright, Jr. (Robin) and great-grandson, Richard A. Wright III of Connecticut; and sister, Harriet Watson of Carlsbad, CA. Her husband of 66 years, Alfred Brandt Schirm, parents Roy Oather Wright and Hazel Leedom Wright, and her son-in-law Richard A. Wright, predeceased her. Annalu graduated Cum Laude from Ohio University in 1939, majoring in Math and Latin and minoring in Greek and French. She taught Math and Latin at Canal Winchester High School before marrying her husband on August 24, 1940. She was a member of David Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grant Hospital Women's Service Board and the Elizabeth Sherman Reese Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an avid Buckeye fan and loved playing Bridge. Annalu was active in the Canal Winchester community and also enjoyed golf, hunting, playing cards, fishing, and feeding the birds. Her smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 12, 11 a.m. at David Evangelical Lutheran Church, 300 Groveport Rd., Canal Winchester, with Pastor Randy O'Donnell officiating. The family will receive friends forty-five minutes before the service. A private interment will take place at Winchester Abbey mausoleum in Canal Winchester.
