Anne Collie Obituary

Anne Caroline Collie, of Little Rock, was born on February 12th, 1927 and passed away Tuesday, July 21st, 2009 she was 82 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lena Hoffman, her husband, H.E. Collie, Jr., and two daughters, Donna Lee and Deborah Arnold. She is survived by one sister, Viola Muskopf, of Columbia, Illinois, daughters, Jan Scroggin, of Dallas, Texas, Marcia Geyer, of Mena, granddaughters, Ashley Graham and Lindsey Arnold, Julie George, Jackie George, and one grandson, Bobbie Tidwell, one great-grandson, Gavin Arnold. Mrs. Collie was an executive secretary at the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission for 27 years. She was a member of Central Arkansas Ballroom Dance Association and was in the gold level program at Fred Astaire Dance Studio. She attended First Baptist Church of Mena Arkansas for several years. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, was an accomplished vocalist and a loving mother and grandmother. In her earlier years she was a member of Sweet Adelines and also a member of PTA and on a bowling league. She especially enjoyed writing poems for birthdays and special occasions. She will be remembered most for her independent spirit, strong will and love of life. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 24th, at 2:00 p.m.at Griffin-Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th St., Little Rock, with Rev. David Moore officiating.
