Anne Marie Gurnari

Anne Marie Gurnari, 74, of the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday morning at St. Luke's Villa, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Marie (Hale) Zimmerman.

She was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, class of 1955, and was employed as a seamstress for Leslie Fay, Plains Township, Gail's Fashions of Miners Mills and for the Wyoming Valley Health Care System.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Miners Mills, and its Altar and Rosary Society, and a current member of St. Benedict Parish, Parsons. She served as secretary of the Miners Mills Little League and was a member of the Miners Mills Crime Watch.

She and her husband, Alfred J. Gurnari, celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on June 27, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Zimmerman.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, Al, are her children, Nina Deno and her husband, Lloyd, of Ashley, Alan Gurnari, Wilkes-Barre, Patti Zendarski and her husband, Bob, of Glen Lyon, and Joseph ""Jody"" Gurnari and his wife, Bobbi Jo, Hudson; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Rita Mercado, Scranton; aunt, Jule Novak, Kingston; nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Ss. Peter & Paul Church, Plains Township. Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
