Mr. Jaggie, sending you heartfelt condolences from afar. We are sorry to hear of this great loss to the communities she served and the world at large. She was one of my favorite teachers at NCS...she took no prisoners, she was serious but not stern, compassionate and full of love - and inspired in me a passion for history, the Iroquois, the land, and educating other young minds.
With love and prayers,

Losing Anne created an immense chasm: That much personality and that large a force of nature seeping from this life cannot help but leave a large void. Her presence here was noticed and will be remembered.
Anne had a remarkable talent for touching people of all ages and making them all feel both valued and valuable. In our family she was colleague and friend to my father, friend and confidant to my mother, a wickedly irreverent and witty sister from another mother, and Godmother to a first grandchild.
She is indelibly etched in the minds and hearts of students and fellow teacher alike for once having, in the parlance of the time, made history relevant and memorable by describing the comeuppance of a corrupt politician by succinctly stating: They had him by the short hairs. An ounce of irreverence for a pound of student learning was a trade she was willing to make. Her irreverence, however, was eclipsed hundredfold by her reverence for nature, especially birds, and a deep and abiding affection for her family and friends.

Joel, I, as the entire community here in Narrowsburg are heavy hearted to hear of Anne's passing. Mrs. Jaggie has been fondly remembered in over 90 comments on the facebook page Narrowsburgians Unite. She gave me much good advice and was always a compassionate and understanding woman throughout my teen and many of my adult years. Praying peace for your heart, the world is a greater place for her being. Hugs to you. Carol Ropke Wingert
