Anne Raffa

RAFFA _ Anne (nee Malashuk). Anne passed away quietly on Sunday, March 5, 2006, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Anne was born on August 21, 1924, in Thorhild, Alberta. She was a widow, having lost her husband, John Raffa, much too soon in 1980. Anne is survived by her loving daughter, Janis, of San Francisco, her son David, and her daughter-in-law, Louise, of North Vancouver, BC. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, John, and his wife Nicholle, Sarah, Lindsay, Rachel and Carmen, her great-grandson Holden, her two sisters, Mary and Rose, and by many extended family members in Western Canada. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family, and especially by her good friend and dance partner, Al. Anne will be remembered for her generous nature, hospitality and love of life. We will all miss her constant smile and laughter. Anne's family would like to specially thank the staff of St. Michael's Hospice in Burnaby for making her remaining days as comfortable as possible. You are angels and will be rewarded in heaven. Pursuant to her wishes, there will be a celebration of her life over lunch and "coffee at Anne's place", at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 8th, for all friends and family.
