Aloha, Reick family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother was a wonderful, positive spirit and a great role model. She will surely be greatly missed.

The thing I liked best about my Aunt Anne was her ability to laugh at herself. She would downplay her accomplishments as a mother and a scholar and always amplify the milestones of her children, as though they had nothing to do with the example and encouragement she provided.

I also loved the way she loved her family. She was so happy to connect with family at any time and always made me feel welcome, although I saw her very infrequently. Storytelling was also important to her and the same story was never interpreted in the same way when the three sisters were recounting those stories: my mom, Aunt Bev and Aunt Anne!!

Thanks for keeping us informed of her condition. God bless you in your days ahead.
