BRIDIE HEALY Obituary
HEALY, BRIDIE A. (NEE MCARDLE) 85 - of Galloway Twp., passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 26, 2010. Born in County Louth, Ireland, she was an area resident since the early 1950's. She was owner and proprietor of Hotel Healy in Atlantic City. She later worked at the Sands Hotel and Casino. She was a member of Church of Assumption where she taught CCD. Bridie was predeceased by her husband, Thomas; her parents Peter and Aileen; her brothers, Bernard and Brendan; and her sisters, Kathleen Coburn and Mary McArdle. Bridie is survived by her daughters, Eileen Garrity (James), Mary Kershner (Conrad), and Theresa Dunford (Michael); her sons, Thomas and James; her brothers, Peter, John, and James; her sister, Alice Grant; and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Wednesday evening March 3, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Wimberg Funeral Home 211 E. Great Creek Avenue Galloway. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Church of Assumption on Pitney Road in Galloway. Burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing immediately following. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wimberg Funeral Home 211 E. Great Creek Road Galloway 609-641-0001. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made in her name to Atlantic Care Hospice and Palliative Care, PO Box 1626 Pleasantville, NJ 08231.

Working briefly with Bridie at the sands was pure joy, what a charming LADY..among the many faces of Bridie, I loved her , GREAT HUMOR,her STYLE, CLASS, SINCERE NATURE,...what an entertainer she could have been (Palms) HA-HA. What a joy to be around, I admired her greatly... what a privilege to know her,,,a spark of life to any gathering! (GOD'S SPEED BRIDIE OL' GIRL GOD BLESS YOU)

Working with Bridie, at the sands was a pure joy, Listening to her was a great joy, what a laugh, remembering her gift to read palms, I believe she did have the art to do it,in a truely irish way, but that is between Bridie & I!, She was filled with so many great qualities, her great wit, charm, and class...a great lady, with true sincere honesty,a good catholic, ...it was an honor to get to know her , the short time I have, GOD SPEED BRIDIE, AND GOD LOVE YOU.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss.
I have so enjoyed the stories of Birdie for years and know how sorely she will be missed. I also know that she had a life well lived and well served to her family, community and God.
Her family and friends carry her in their hearts forever and will surely take comfort in their many memories.
