Annette DiSano Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 30, 2025.
Annette Marie DiSano passed away unexpectedly on October 31, 2024, in Corte Madera, California, following a brief illness. Born on June 16, 1947, in Los Angeles to Joseph and Antoinette DiSano, she is survived by her devoted sister Joann DiSano and Joann's partner Jim Koester. She was "Nettie" to her dear cousin Barbara Kaiser, and her daughters Jenna and Devon. Countless friends, near and far will miss her vibrant spirit.

A lifelong learner with an insatiable thirst for knowledge and adventure, Annette was passionate about enriching her life experiences. She grew up in Los Angeles, California where she received a Bachelor's degree in Fashion & Design from California State University, Long Beach, and an MBA in Marketing & Finance from the University of Southern California.

In her twenties, Annette was a flight attendant during the Vietnam War, which ignited her adventurous spirit. Her travels took her to diverse cultures in Vietnam, Japan, Italy, Ireland, Tanzania, England, Canada, Mexico, and France. To further embrace her love for languages, she took Italian classes "just for fun."

During Annette's business career she held the positions of Director of Sales & Marketing, Chief Operating Officer or President at these firms: HuntWesson/ConAgra, Aromatic Industries/Mennen Company, Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corp, Infinifty Systems/Harman Int'l, Sonance, Golden State Int'l and Netshare. She was highly regarded by her co-workers due to her firm but fair approach and then as one-of-the-gang after work.

Annette was dedicated to sharing her love for art and culture. She was actively involved in multiple book clubs and volunteered as an enthusiastic docent for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Committed to community service, she served on the boards of Marin Services for Women, Marketing Executives Networking Group and City Car Share, and was a member of the Finance Committee for Corte Madera.

Annette's creative side shone through in her sewing skills, photography, gardening, painting and cooking. She was especially known for her festive dinner parties. Her book club members were most enthusiastic when it was her time to host their events.

Known by her family and friends as a true renaissance woman, Annette viewed life as a canvas full of possibilities. She approached each day with the belief that life was an open invitation to experience new adventures. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her and experienced her joy.

Like everyone, I was saddened to learn of Annette's passing. I too knew Annette while attending St John the Evangelist Catholic School and was in the Brownie Troop with Annette. Unfortunately, I moved from Los Angeles before I became a Girl Scout with all my wonderful friends in the Troop. However, I did attend the reunion and it was such a joy to see everyone again.

Annette is probably in awe of all the glorious colors she is seeing now!

I´m so sorry to hear about the loss of Annette. I was one of her Girl Scout friends and knew her through my elementary school years at St. John the evangelist Church in LA

We were fortunate to have such a close group of friends in our Girl Scout troop, and although memories fade at this point in our lives, she was one who always brought a smile and cared about all of us. My prayers and sympathy are with you and your family.

Nettie was truly an inspiration in how she lived her life. Sending our deepest condolences to the entire DiSano and Kaiser family.

We were treated to a private tour of Michaelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling exhibition at St Mary's in October 2021 by Nettie. She was indeed a renaissance woman, as she did a wonderful job of explaining these renaissance frescos to us. We have seen the originals in Rome, but this was much more "up close and personal" You can not see Nettie's face well due to our pandemic masks, but her enthusiasm shone through!
