Annette and I were Juniors on the same basketball team in `65 when South Hamilton won the girls State basketball championship. This picture (I´m to the left of Annette) was taken the next year when we went to state, but didn´t get too far. Annette was a calm, competent easy-going friend in grade school, and in high school. I remember her fondly and was saddened to hear of her passing.

We were deeply saddened to hear about Annette´s passing. We have fond memories of the summer of 1965 when Annette stayed at our farm to help out after my mother, Blanche Durby, had a lawn mower accident. Her kindness and willingness to pitch in with household tasks meant so much to us.

We also cherish the memories of Durby family gatherings for holidays and birthdays, where Annette and her cousin Barb had such fun creatively fixing each other´s hair. It seems fitting that Annette later became a talented hairdresser.

Please know you are in our thoughts during this difficult time. Sending hugs, prayers, and love to all.

My big sister Annette was my hero.

I always looked up to her! My first memory was getting our picture taken on our piano bench with matching jumpers made by our mom...I always wanted to be like her and this was my first attempt (thanks to Mom)!

Love & hugs to Annette & Mom in heaven together now.

"I knew Annette through her sister Gloria. I knew her as a warm, funny, sensitive person with a great sense of humor. We did a couple of trips to Las Vegas together and had a ball. Annette and I played Blackjack together and kept the whole table entertained. (I can´t remember if we won or lost but we sure did have fun!)

We had also determined that we wanted to go to a second hand store that Gloria and I knew about. We tried on clothes and hats and outfits the like of which you only see on those Las Vegas show girls! We had a ball!

It was a privilege to know Annette and I think all of us were so fortunate that she touched our lives."

I met Annette when our family moved to Fairfax in 1976. She was a beautiful and kind person. We enjoyed spending time at the local golf course and bowled on the same team for years. My sincere condolences to all of her family and friends.

I remember Annette making homemade pizza for us siblings, and she had a favorite ice cream treat called 'the purple cow'.
