Annette Winward Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 27, 2025.
Annette Gatherum Winward, born January 20, 1961, in Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on September 25, 2025, in West Jordan, Utah. She was 64 years old.

Annette's life was marked by a deep compassion for others and an unwavering generosity that touched everyone she encountered. Known for her spirited personality and fierce loyalty to those she cared about, she had a heart that extended far beyond her immediate circle. Whether it was family, friends, or strangers in need, Annette never hesitated to offer help-often giving more than she had to ensure no one went without.

She was the proud mother of her only child, Raven Carlson, who brought immense joy and meaning to her life. Annette also shared a close bond with her two sisters, LaRae Steffen (Mark) and Sherry Jackson. Her nieces, nephews, and cousins held a special place in her heart; many of these relationships were especially close and deeply cherished.

Annette was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ray and Lenore Gatherum; her older brother, Mark Gatherum; and her dear friend Alicia (Lisa) Sherman. Their memories remained with her always.

A lifelong animal lover, Annette devoted much of her time to rescuing cats and dogs. Her home was often a sanctuary for animals in need, and she leaves behind several cherished furbabies who will miss her comforting presence most of all.

Though she could be a handful at times-a trait that made her all the more memorable-Annette's love for the people in her life never wavered. Her giving spirit and bold personality left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
