Annie CROTTS

The last long-time resident of Bolinas, passed away at her home early a.m. on May 5, 2014 at age 91 with her family by her side. Annie has now joined her husband and two sons in heaven. She is survived by her eldest son Roland and his wife Kelly, grandson Russell and his wife Colleen, brother Walter (Sonny) Wagner and his wife Leilani, and niece Debbie Rosson and her husband John. Annie arrived in Bolinas from Massachusetts at the age of three in 1925 with her parents, Walter and Alice Wagner. Annie attended Bolinas Union Grammar School and Tamalpais High School. She married Harvey Crotts after meeting him at a local dance and together they raised their three sons, Roland, Charlie, and Jimmy. Annie retired from the Bolinas Postmaster position on October 2nd 1992 after serving the Post Office and the community for 31 years. She was a significant pillar of the 'little' community of Bolinas, being involved in the Bolinas Calvary Presbyterian Church, American Legion, White Caps, Bolinas Rod and Boat Club, etc. No doubt, she will be most remembered for singing the Star Spangled Banner to kick off the 4th of July celebration and parade for the last 60+ years. A Visitation will be from 11-2 p.m., Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Monte's Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo. Annie's funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Bolinas Calvary Presbyterian Church (Brighton Avenue and Wharf Road) A viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service. Her final resting place is Bolinas Cemetery. After her burial you are also encouraged to help us celebrate Annie's life with a potluck gathering at the Bolinas Community Center beginning at approximately 2:00 pm. Please bring your favorite dish to share. Filtered water and soft drinks will be provided. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Bolinas Calvary Presbyterian Church or Heartland Hospice Services of San Rafael.
