Annie Muriel Smith Buzbee Neathery

SPRINGTOWN -- Annie Muriel Smith Buzbee Neathery, 79, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013. Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20, in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 19, at Greenwood Funeral Home. Annie was born Jan. 25, 1934, in Beulah, Miss., to Emmett Cavett Smith and Mary Ruth Breedlove in the hard times of the Depression. Even so she had many fond memories of her childhood, especially of her grandfather Smith spoiling her. She was a hairdresser by trade and we all have fond memories of her "practicing" on our hair. Grannie Annie loved us all fiercely and was a force in all our lives. We will miss her more than anyone could ever know. She did what was important; she taught us to take care of our family. Annie was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Murphy. Survivors: Husband, Bill Neathery; brother, Emmett Smith; sisters, Frances Barclay and Linda Roach and husband, Joe; children, Don Russell, Amy Coyle and husband, Dave, Debi Holl and husband, Steve, and Robert Russell; grandchildren, Nolan Eastman and wife, Sherrie, April Eastman, Kelly and Shannon McBrayer and Craig Russell; and great-grandchildren, Faith and Jackson Perry, Caleb Dalby and Daniel and Christopher Eastman.
