Anthony Bonner, JR Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 4, 2023.
Anthony James Bonner, Jr. passed away on November 14, 2023 to reunite with his beloved wife of 65 years Virginia (Ginny) who preceded him in death on September 5, 2022.

A devoted and loving Dad to his four heart-broken daughters and their spouses Kathy and Ray Kasten, Colleen and Steve Komisarow, Doreen and Kevin Campbell and Maureen and Scott Guse survive him. While he loved being a Dad first, becoming Pop to his 11 Grandchildren Brett (Gianna) Kasten, Jessica (Barrett) Counts, Kara (Cliff) Mullins, Jordan (Kevin) Washington, Greg (Jennifer) Guse, Jenna (Brad) Turner, Court (Kim) Kasten, Amanda (Grayson) Weber, Patrick and Ryan Campbell and Jillian (Phillip) Johnson and his 19 plus 2 on the way Great Grands was the icing on the cake! He loved watching his grandchildren grow into adulthood and he loved everything and anything the grands and great grands were doing. His family brought Tony never ending joy.

Tony had a variety of interests. He was into computers before computers were a thing. He was one of the initial employees of The Systems Works and was beloved by all. He loved watching all kinds of sports, Soccer, Tennis, Football and Baseball and he could recite facts about all of them. One of his favorite past times was playing thousands and thousands of Gin Rummy games with his bride. One of his newer passions was singing in the chorus at Sanford Estates and he loved conversation.

He was perpetually happy and spread kindness wherever he went.

He leaves us with a lifetime of amazing memories and a reminder to meet each day with a smile. Simply put he was the BEST and will be missed forever.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Sanford Estates Roswell, Georgia at a place he truly loved and enjoyed.

In addition, another Memorial Service and Internment will be held at 11:00 on Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Georgia National Cemetery 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive Canton, Georgia. Tony was a proud Navy Veteran.

I guess I am taking up bandwidth but I feel compelled to say more.

When David and Alice Welden hired me back in 09/1979 for the startup of the Alumax project; you were there. Employee # 1. We hit off. Our 1st trip together was Stamas Yachts in Tarpon Springs, FL. If it weren't for your guidance/knowledge I am not sure I could of done my part.

We were not just coworkers but close friends. Ball games. Countless waffle house luncheons after you retired.

I'm forever grateful you texted me telling me to come see you at the hospital. We spent over an hour down memory lane until you said 'time to go'. And I knew in my heart what you exactly meant. Less than a day later I got a message from your daughter Colleen (#2) that you passed. You will always be with me!

Tony is the most memorable and caring coworker and mentor in my entire life. Tony was always available for listening, helping, and especially teaching. Tony was why The System Worked. I would be there to honor Tony and his family if I could. We are out of country. Ray and Kathy; Adele and I will be at Tony's graveside this next week and share our loving experiences with him.
Sincerely,
Marshall and Adele Hernandez

Tony, words alone can not describe how much you are missed. You know I would be there to honor you but, sadly, I am in Thailand.
