Anthony "Tony" Catanese, 88, of West Deer Township, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Rebecca Residence, West Deer Township. Mr. Catanese was born Jan. 12, 1927, to the late Joseph and Anna Catanese. Tony lived all his life in the West Deer Township area. He was a sheet metal worker with Local No. 12 for 30 years retiring in 1989. Tony served in the Army during World War II. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed hunting and was very active in local politics. He was a member of the American Legion, former Lions Club and VFW of West Deer Township. He is survived by his children, Marie E. (Lonnie) Baker, of Leechburg, Cynthia E. (Arthur) Carion, of Chicora, and Anthony J. (Carole Ann) Catanese, of Indiana Township; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; brothers, Pete Catanese, of West Deer Township, and Steve (Carmella) Catanese, of Arnold; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Shirley (Bowser) Catanese in 1994; brothers, Roger, Angelo and Charles Catanese. Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2015, in the ADAM SIEMIANOWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 179 Starr Road, Russellton, West Deer Township. A blessing service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. James P. Holland officiating. Tony will be laid to rest beside his wife, Shirley, at Mt.
