Anthony Conti Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 29, 2017.
Anthony John Conti, age 16, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 22, 2000, he spent his early years in East Boston, before settling in Walpole with his family at the age of 8. He attended Walpole Public School, beginning in Fisher Elementary and later in Johnson Middle, before attending Walpole High School with the Class 2019. From a young age, Anthony always had a desire to entertain people. He began acting at the age of 9 and later transitioned to the position behind the camera, developing his passion for film. After entering high school, Anthony became very involved in the WHS Film Festival, even having a cameo appearance in one of the films, which is not the norm for a freshman. It was noted by many that he was incredibly talented and surely his film and acting career would go far. Over the past summer, Anthony began taking a film class at the high school, however shortly after the start of the course, he was diagnosed with Adrenocortical Cancer, leaving the class to begin treatment. After his diagnosis, Anthony contacted the Make A Film Foundation, eager to speak with them about a major Hollywood Film that he wanted to make. His wish was granted and he was flown to Los Angeles, where he worked with A list celebrities and top Hollywood directors and crew members to create his film, "The Black Ghiandola." It was more than a horror film, according to Anthony, it was a metaphor for his condition. Just this past fall, the Walpole High School Film Department held their annual fundraiser, The Turkey Shoot," to raise money for the Make A Film Foundation, showing some of Anthony's short films. Working alongside the mainstream people in Hollywood and knowing that his classmates were so supportive brought so much joy to Anthony, for which he was eternally grateful. Beloved son of Brian Conti of Walpole and Susan Aceto and Gino Alonso of Walpole. Cherished grandson of Anita King of Foxborough, the late Francis Conti, and the late Joseph Alagata and the late Lorraine Aceto. Devoted nephew of Scott Conti and his wife Carolyn of Walpole, Tina Pouso of Florida, Melissa Presley of Florida, and Audrey Leonard of Maine. Great nephew of Jane King of Walpole. Also survived by his cousins, Matthew and Jason Conti of Walpole, many members of his extended family, friends, classmates, teachers, and new found Hollywood cast mates and crew. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Anthony's Life Celebration on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 3-7 PM and Friday, February 3, 2017 from 12-12:30 PM in the James H. Delaney & Son Funeral Home, 48 Common Street, Walpole. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church, 10 Diamond Street, Walpole on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Saint Francis Cemetery in Walpole. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The Anthony Conti Scholarship Fund, 275 Common Street, Walpole, MA 02081, ATTN: Deb Wolfe, with checks payable to Walpole Public Schools, including Anthony Conti Scholarship on the memo line.

Dear Anita, Anthony's parents, and all who loved him, I am so very sorry for your loss. He is a hero for fighting bravely and continuing to do what he loved all through his fight. I so enjoyed being able to meet him, though I wish it had been under different circumstances. I loved hearing about his trip and loved when he would show me clips of his movie. An inspiration indeed. My friend , my patient , my inspiration Anthony. I told you many times that no one knows what lies ahead, no one knows their final destiny, but whatever that destiny is , there's a reason . You made your mark on so many of us in your short 16 years. You made a difference. I cherish every moment I spent with you , even though so many of those were the toughest I've experienced in my 14 years as a nurse. Fly high Anthony, soar above us, guide us, teach us, wrap your wings around your gramma, your mom and your dad who suffered the pain of seeing you hurting. Give us all strength when we look to the sky for answers. I will never forget you. Thank you for allowing me the honor of caring for you. Your favorite nurse , despite you grunting each time I'd try to force you to say it.Vicky, RN, mass general for children
