Roy L. Koontz Jr.
84, of Brownsburg, IN, passed away February 11, 2015. Roy was born August 29, 1930, to Roy Sr. and Edna Koontz (Gatlin). Roy is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia (Bahr); 5 daughters, Janet O'Connor (Danny), Marjorie Wilkinson, Carol Reinken (Paul), Susie Bates (Chris), Ruth Diaz (Tito); 2 sons, Keith (Lori) and Gary (Lynne); 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Charles, Jimmy, Barbara Strain, Joyce Carson, Doris Beckwith. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ellen Ebert and brother, Jack.
After serving in the US Navy, Roy was a custom home builder for over 30 years. He then worked at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for 10 years. He loved attending family sporting events, poker with his family, RV trips to racing events, and working side by side with his children on many construction projects. He was proudest of his family and cherished spending time with them. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday Feb. 15 at Matthews Mortuary , Brownsburg. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday Feb. 16 at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 9833 E County Road 750 N, Brownsburg.
