Tony was a positive, energetic, hardworking, and very fun friend at Francis Parker. I´m thinking of him with love.

My favorite memory of Tony was when we taught
summer science camp and went to Tecolote Canyon to catch crayfish.

What can one say about such a fixture !....I remember when he first began his long adventure at Parker. He inspired you to go further than you thought was possible and was always positive. When ever I think about Parker I think about Tony and many others who were great role models...Mary Moore...Mrs. Fischer...Doris Larson...Marjorie Jordon...Dr. and Mrs. Grant and of course Dr. Crone.....they each had one thing in common .....they taught by example! Thanks to Tony's family and more for sharing his life with all each of us....we are richer for it....thanks all !

Harley Sefton and I would frequently schedule a lunch with Coach Ghironi whenever I returned to San Diego to visit my parents. I enjoyed keeping in touch with Coach Ghironi since playing football for him in 1970 & 1971. Coach Ghironi, along with Coach Bennett, Coach Glassey, Coach Russell, Coach Freer, and Coach Summers, were instrumental in laying the groundwork for a successful Parker athletic program. I truly believe I benefited from Coach Ghironi's mentorship, leadership, and friendship through the years. Thank you for all those fond football memories Coach !

Blessed to have had Coach both on the field and in the classroom, and to have had him teach my daughter. On the football field, he molded many a young man by modeling humility, pride, toughness and all the good stuff. He cared much more about how his players treated others, especially those within our Parker family, than he did about wins. Love you Coach, thanks for the memories and looking forward to when we meet again

Having had the privilege to both work and play with Tony and with Jan, Tony is nothing but great memories. Tony was a great school man in every way. He never faltered in his many, many duties; many of which were unsung. Talking and teasing him about sports pointed out how much he truly knew how to play and how to coach and what the true meaning of doing so was at its very best. Big smiles, Tony. Lots of love and appreciation. Save a seat for us in the dugout!

Tony:

I´m going to miss our conversations about your Dodgers and 49ers and my Padres and Chargers. More than that, I´m going to miss you and your spirit. Godspeed good friend.

I will miss Tony. He had a great love for life, laughing so very often. He was a loving prankster, a huge asset to Francis Parker, and a joyful friend.

I am so sorry for your loss of Tony. He was such an important and well loved member of our class at St. Aloysuis and then again at Tulare High School. He always had that gorgeous smile for everyone, and he was always so gentle, kind, and humble. I was a high school teacher also, and I know the love it takes to be the kind of great teacher Tony was. He definitely made a gift of his life. I would have loved seeing him as a coach; I bet he loved that! I bet he was so good with his students and teams!
Your dad and grandfather was a treasure to know. May your good memories of him and his love for you give you comfort. He will always be with you.
With hugs and prayers, Mary Lou

I enjoyed reading about my dear friend´s life. He was unique, so humble and kind to others which is not typical of a dedicated and outstanding athlete. I do miss our talks about his family and remembering the good times we shared at St. Aloysius and Tulare Union High School. Those old friendships are never forgotten. He always spoke very highly of his grandchildren and so appreciated their visits. To all his family, he is still with you and always will be. May your memories give you comfort during this very difficult time. Bless you!
