Anthony Hindley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 14, 2025.
Anthony Frederick "Tony" Hindley, 88, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, in Venice, Florida.

Born on June 5, 1937, in Lincoln, Rhode Island, Tony's life was marked by dedication to family, business, and community. He began his education at Moses Brown School in Providence before earning his bachelor's degree from Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts. He later pursued a master's degree at the Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-an academic journey that laid the foundation for a distinguished career.

Tony served as President of Hindley Manufacturing, proudly representing the third generation of his family to lead the hardware manufacturing company. Under his leadership, the business continued its legacy of excellence and innovation. His commitment to the company reflected not only a deep respect for tradition but also a forward-thinking vision that helped guide it into the modern era.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tony was deeply involved in civic life as a dedicated Rotarian. His service and leadership within the organization exemplified his belief in giving back to the community and fostering goodwill among others.

Tony was also known for his love of sports and travel. A lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, he followed both teams with enthusiasm and pride. He was an avid golfer (with his most recent hole in one at age 85) who found joy and camaraderie on the course. Travel brought him great happiness throughout his life-whether exploring new destinations or revisiting favorite places with loved ones.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Carol Lundquist Hindley; sons Scott Hindley and his wife Adrienne, and Mark Hindley and his wife Jennifer; grandchildren Alexandria Hindley, Peter Hindley, Stephen Hindley, John Hindley and his wife Elizabeth, Lauren Hindley and Anders Hindley; brother Phil Hindley and his wife Patricia; and sister-in-law Eunice Hindley.

Tony was predeceased by his son Erik Hindley and brother Jay Hindley.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Tony's life and legacy.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
