Anthony Jones Obituary
Born January 29, 1958 in Mount Airy, Maryland, Tony was the son of the late John L. Jones, Sr. and Annabelle V. Dorsey Jones.
Tony graduated from Glenelg High School, where he played basketball and football. As an adult, Tony played flag football for the Howard County Cowboys and fast pitch softball for the Wildcats. Most recently he was employed with Frederick County Public Schools and Bowie Cab. Tony had many friends in the Frederick, Howard and Carroll County areas and was known for his quiet demeanor and giving heart. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Tony loved the Lord, and was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his children, Anthony(A.J.) Jones(Stephanie), Amanda Lovell(Kwame) and Kristopher Jones; grandchildren; Nikya Jones and Gavin Lovell; great grandchildren Azziah and Rylin Garner; sisters; Sharon Jones and Adrienne(Amy) Jones; brother, Ronnie Pumphrey; great aunts Betty Dorsey, Alverta Virginia Woodyard, Arlene Dorsey, Lucille Dorsey and Rodetta Dorsey, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends and lifelong friend, Angelo(Al) Miles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Annabelle Jones; and brothers John Jones, Jr., Charles G. Jones, Dwayne Jones and Kevin Jones.
The family will receive friends from 10am to 11:00am Friday, December 9th, at Haight Funeral Home and Chapel, 6316 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, MD 21784.
Funeral services will immediately follow the viewing at Haight Funeral Home and Chapel. Ross Jackson will officiate.
Interment will be at Simpson Methodist Cemetery, Poplar Springs, MD. Anthony Jones
