I was so blest to have Anthony in our 3rd grade class at East Oakview. I remember he got our class bunny when he wrote a wonderful letter. Gone too soon.

It was just a short while ago that I learned of Anthony's passing so please excuse my late message. I was one of his supervisors when he was gathering his supervision hours during his graduate training at Pacific University. He came to our clinic (Anxiety and Panic Treatment Center) highly recommended by another Pacific student, Daniel Gibson, and he didn't disappoint. He was with us for about two years and he and I co-led numerous OCD treatment groups as well as had many hours of supervision of his work with his individual clients. He was a delight to work with and he and I shared a mutual interest in treating anxiety disorders, especially OCD. Many times I felt like he was teaching me as much as, or even more than, I was teaching him. He was a gifted clinician and I consistently received raving reviews of his work from his clients. I had hoped that he might return to work at our clinic after he had completed his training. I would have hired him on the spot.
I wish I had some words for you that could help with this terrible loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Best,
Bob McLellarn

I was so shocked and saddened when I heard of Anthony's passing. As a client of Anthony's, I knew him to be warm, caring, compassionate, thoughtful, understanding, and always accommodating when I felt like a mess.
I wanted you to know how important he was to me. He was always adjusting and learning new things for our work so he could try different approaches when I got stuck, and he helped me find gentle humor in situations that felt hopeless. I miss him very much. I hope his family finds peace in the knowledge of how he made a difference in the lives of so many.

Dear Lombardi family,
Anthony was my therapist up until his passing.
I’m sure you’ve heard this from many others by now, but I’d like to add my voice to the chorus of praise for Anthony. He was a fantastic therapist and a wonderful human being -- one of the best people I’ve ever had the privilege to know. He was so enthusiastic about every success of mine, no matter how small, and unrelentingly encouraging and understanding about every setback or hesitation. The one thing I can still hear in his voice is his excited "Florence, that's awesome!" for every tiny victory. His efforts helped me immensely, and I miss his warmth and presence in my life every single day.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss.
Anthony, happy birthday. I know you’re watching over all of us with love.
Sincerely,
Florence

I'm sending so much love your way. Anthony was my supervisor for a brief period during my doctorate training. He made me feel completely at ease and was so kind and warm. When I think of Anthony I think of his smile, his laugh, positive energy, and sweetness. And his fashion sense- the man had dope shoes. My heart feels heavy to hear of the news and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have met such a beautiful person. And that beauty is such a testament to you, his family.

Dear Anthony's family,
As one of Anthony's former patients, I must tell you how truly incredible and gifted your son was. He quite remarkably cured me of a phobia and my generalized anxiety, made me realize my passion for therapy (and, later, gave me the courage to become one), and brought so much light to my life all in under one year.
Anthony had the power to transform the way I viewed myself and made me understand my self worth. I felt immediately connected to him and had opened up to him more than anyone else. All of this speaks to the impact that he had on the world. It's not every day that you find someone who can change your whole perception and bring sunshine back into your life.
I am so thankful to have known him in such an intimate setting and will never forget those moments. I hope your family is staying safe and healthy.
With love,
Haley

I was a student at Pacific University in the class below Anthony. One thing I will never forget is something that he said to our small supervisee group in my first year of clinical training. When his patients were having a hard time outside of session, they said to themselves, "What would Anthony do?" In doing so, they were able to bring Anthony's voice to mind to help guide them in their distress. To me, this not only expressed the impact that we, as therapists, can have on our patients, but also the meaningful impact that he, as a clinician, had on his own patients. I did not know him very well, but I could tell he was an incredibly talented, warm, and compassionate person. He will be missed by many, and my deepest condolences go to his loved ones.

We are so sad to hear of Anthony’s passing. We remember him as such a happy young man in HS and College and always with a smile on his face. He was so polite and courteous when we would run into him around town and enjoyed visiting with him for a few minutes. He had accomplished so much in his short life and had so much more to look forward too. It is such a heartbreak that his life was taken from him. Our condolences to you and your family. May God watch over you during this difficult time.

Dear Deb and Guy:
There are no words to express how saddened we were to hear this sad news. What a wonderful, remarkable young man you raised; we know how much you loved him.
When Anthony worked for us at the restaurant he was always dedicated, smiling, funny, respectful and always ready to take that extra step. Fellow employees and customers alike were drawn to his personality.
We pray you find solace and peace knowing what a difference he has made to so many people.
Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

Mr. & Mrs. Lombardi and family,
I'm so sorry to hear about Anthony.
It's been a long time since the locker room, and whenever I think of my hockey days Anthony is there. It seems like we always played together even though it was only 4 years or so. Even with all of that time on the same bench, I got to know him best in an Art class in High School. It was there I really learned his personality and his sense of humor. When I think about him, I think about him smiling and laughing. I've only recently learned about all of his accomplishments since then, and it only enforced what I already knew about him - he was a really special person.
My heart goes out to you and everybody else who loved him.

Debbie and Guy,
Words do not suffice in expressing our heartfelt sorrow. Anthony was an incredible gift to you his parents, his brother, his patients and colleagues. He was kind, gentle, intelligent and athletic. All magnificent qualities rolled into a very gifted young man. He accomplished so much in his shortened life; as parents, we know how incredibly proud you were of his many successes and we enjoyed when you shared with us. We know God will grant you the peace and comfort necessary to get you through this most difficult time and in the days, weeks, months and years ahead. We are honored to have known this gentle soul; his kind and gentle heart has stopped beating, his kind and gentle soul has ascended to heaven, where he will keep watch of you until you meet him again in heaven.

Lombardi Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Anthony’s passing. I didn’t know Anthony well, only meeting him once, that I recall. Quite an impressive and accomplished young man. Not shocking to me, considering the wonderful family that raised him. I will keep your family in my prayers and ask the Lord to comfort your family through this difficult time.

Thank you for raising a truly wonderful young man. Our boys, especially Ryan, valued their time with Anthony because he was kind, honest, smart, loyal and just fun to be around. His impressive accomplishments reflect the important values your family instilled in him. Anthony’s good works are an example to us all. We will never forget his easy personality, compassion and most of all that smile. Our hearts go out to you and Patrick. We pray that you find comfort in the joy Anthony brought into the world.

We are completely devastated by the loss of such a dear and truly special young man. As a friend to my kids in High School, he was handsome, multi-talented, popular, friendly to all, athletic and always fun to be around. As the son of our very dear friends, he was always kind, respectful, smart, and engaging. His professional accomplishments are impressive and we enjoyed hearing of his many successes and how he was helping so many. We cheered when he got his Doctorate and were so proud of him alongside his parents! We have lost an uncommonly good young man much too soon and we are profoundly sad. We know Anthony has a special place in heaven. We hope God will give the family strength. We will remember him always.
