Anthony MADRO Obituary

Published by Calgary Herald from Mar. 2 to Mar. 3, 2018.

MADRO, Anthony (Tony) Mathew
Tony Madro was a good man. He married a great woman and together they had two fine sons. They were always his priority and first concern - he loved them deeply. He leaves them behind in good hands; his. They will always be taken care of, in no small part thanks to his hard work and unwavering assurance of it. He was always happiest when making those he loved happy. We will remember the man who lived - he will be missed.
It was February 19, 2018 when we lost him. It was not expected. The outpouring of support has been immense and is appreciated. Thank you to all. His many friends and family have pulled together to get through this tough time. Services will be announced at a later date.

Dear Laurel
I was very sorry to hear about Tony's passing. While I've lost touch with you all since immigrating to Australia, I've always had tremendous respect for Tony. He was a great friend and roommate during our university days, and I know his loss at such a young age must be very difficult. Please know that my thoughts are with you and your family.

Laurel & family - in the more than 30 years that I knew and worked with Tony at Amoco/BP I think he will always be remembered as such a super champion and coach of the folks that worked for him. He was unselfish and always concerned for others - qualities that contributed to his success no matter where he was. And the thing I remember the most about Tony was his smile - he was always quick to provide a smile to make everyone around him feel much more comfortable. We are going to really miss that smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I worked with Tony for many years at Amoco/BP. Recently we used to bump into each other while walking the +15 loop and we almost always stopped to chat. I will miss seeing Tony on his walks and also miss our chats. Tony always had a funny story or we would reminisce about the old Amoco days. Tony will be missed. I just wanted to let you know that Tony changed my life. I first met Tony when I was working at BP and after six years in another department, Tony gave me the opportunity to join his production accounting grop and I was finally able to start my career as a PA - after a ten year wait. After I had enough experience, I left BP/IBM and went over to Conocophillips. After 4 1/2 years at Conoco they farmed all of our production accounting work to the states. It was at that time, I contacted Tony at CNRL for a reference and he helped me get hired. He really did change my life for the better. I will miss his terrific smile and positive attitude. Tony really was a great and caring man! His presence at CNRL be deeply felt. My deepest condolences to his wife and family. Sincerely, Lori Fischer
