I was deeply saddened to hear of Tony'spassing. I was his 8th grade counselor and Language Arts teacher.
He was a great guy even in 8th grade.
Always smiling. Always polite. Always respectful of others.
I am sorry that I was not aware of his passing.
He and his family will be in my prayers this weekend at mass.
May God reward him with a high place in heaven.

Although I hadn't seen Anthony since he was a young boy, it still saddens me since we are all family. He sounds like he grew up into an awesome man, I can tell by the other messages here. Hopefully great memories of him will help ease the pain. All of you Martin's and McMahon's are in our prayers.

I worked with Tony at Liberty Mutual. He was a happy, friendly, funny co-worker. Even after he left, we kept in contact for a bit, sharing his beautiful wedding pictures. My deepest sympathy to his wife, his babies, and his entire family!

I am just stunned to have learned about Tony's passing. Tony and I went to middle school together and stayed in touch in college, but I lost track of him these more recent years. It doesn't seem that long ago a little 4 year old Anthony sat on the ground next to me and asked "What are you doing Mr. Mitch'? "I'm putting in a sprinkler" I replied. "Oh" he said; 'What's that tool called'? I showed him a few and explained what they were for. Then he says (and it sticks with me today), "My Mom says I can use any tool anytime from you but only the small ones", Oh how I wish I could have loaned you a tool to heal You! I am heartbroken to hear of Tony's passing. I have the best memories with him and all of the McMahon/Martin boys. Most of them involved lots of beer and good music. He always made me feel special, poking fun at me because of my MSU roots, and always made me understand my self worth. I can't imagine the pain the Martin family is feeling but I will pray for them everyday. Rest in Peace Tony. Love you guys.

My last contact with Tony was a hug: my family drove to Ann Arbor to visit our son, Matt, went to Cottage Inn for lunch before Mass across the street. Waitress came and said, "the manager would like you to choose an appetizer 'on the house'." We looked around to see who and why the manager would choose us for this treat. Tony then came to say hi to his former Math teacher, me! Before we left I went up to him, thanked him again for his act of kindness, and gave him a big hug (which I love to do when meeting former students). He was one student that I always remembered for his wide, easy smile and super manners! I will keep his family in prayer: grief now is intense, will ebb with time, but never goes away. Love will endure through memories of all that Tony gave his family. He is now at rest from all his suffering, sometimes the only solace his family will feel. I was pained and shocked to hear of the passing of Tony Martin, one of my all-time favorite kids at Notre Dame Prep. I heard this from a parishioner at St. Andrew just before I celebrated the 5 pm Mass there yesterday. I saw Tony a couple of times after graduation but lost track. What a wonderful, lively, smiley, kid Tony was. I am so sorry for your loss. It's always tough to hear of the passing of one of our students, especially at such a young age. God bless all the member of his family. I know that a great kid like this is enjoying the best of the features of God's kingdom.
