I was thinking of Tony just the other day when you guys could see the fireworks all around from your spot on the hill.

I just found out that my uncle Tony died July 07, 2020. To say this saddens me is not even close to describing my hurt at this time. (August 19,2020 Ever since I was a child back in Salamanca, Ny uncle Tony was one of my three favorite uncles that I relished seeing every chance I got. MY uncle Tony was many times Mr. New York State in body building championships but that was far out shined by how classy he was. Every time he came back to Salamanca it was like a National Holiday for me and my cousins. He would roll on the lawn with me and never failed to make that day the most fun day it could be. One time he drove up in front of his mothers home on Elm street and we happened to be visiting. I still remember the beautiful yellow Buick Convertible he had. I remember seeing him drive up with the top down and everybody was so excited. My uncle Tony was, as were all my uncles, quite the ladies man, and as a young boy I always smiled when he drove by the Riverview or even Dudley hotel with one of our beautiful Salamanca girls. As I grew older I knew I envied him! I last saw uncle Tony was in 1965 when my girlfriend Sharon and I flew to Reno to get married before I had to go into the Army. (Actually I went into the Marine Band) Uncle Tony took us to the County seat to get our marriage license and took us out for a beautiful dinner. Uncle Tony always had a mustache, and I couldn't wait for the day I could grow one just like his. And I did! I knew he had a problem with dementia, and for that reason I am glad his suffering is over. Selfishly I still miss you uncle Tony! Nettie, I am sorry we never met but you must have been a very special woman. Thank you being there all those years with my uncle Tony! I hope we do get to meet!

Tony was a kind and generous man. I first met him while working at the Gem casino (aka Crazy Jacks). He would come in to sell his products over the years I worked there. He along with Jack Fulton and the gang would have some great laughs. Tony was like a fine wine and aged well. Also remember small visits on his porch while my wife and I meandered around the San Rafael park neighborhood. Peace

Very sorry--It's been too long since we saw him. Or Nettie, for that matter. He was indeed most pleasant and easy to know--we shared a love of travel when it was virus free. We are all on the same chariot ride eventually.

When Tony arrived in Heaven, God said to him, "Welcome home, good and faithful servant." To the Oliverio family: Tony was one of the finest gentlemen I have ever had the privilege of knowing and I will miss him dearly. May God bless you and protect you with His guardian angels.
Ciao Bello and rest well... TS
