As a Master at Worth he was a constant source of amusing encouragement in class, a great friend and an expansive father figure much needed at boarding school. If you turned up late to one of his art classes you had to be prepared to make an excuse that was outrageous enough to make him laugh which was one of his pastimes. He became a great friend of my father and when they met, whether here or abroad, they spent most of their time laughing and entertaining our families. Truly a spectacular human being.

He was an enormous source of much bonhomie, fun and laughter to my parents. I too thought he was fabulous company despite being 35 years older than I. Bless you Tony and thank you.

He tried to teach me history of art; sorry my o'level came out 'monty python and the script for any one for tennis' and thus U; so ZERO marks for tempora, landseer/reynolds/whistler though to be fair it was a hot summer of "76, 102F in the exam hall... hence my enthusiasm for history.
Colour blind too, how could I pass?
Got a C overall due to his quiet prompts and encouragement, nurturing my observations: Truly inspirational. Thanks.
