Anthony Romito

Anthony Romito, a lifelong resident of the Bronx, died at home on February 16, 2015. He was 88 years old. Mr. Romito was born on December 23, 1926 in NYC to the late Vincent (Jimmy) and Filomena (Rizzetta) Romito. On June 26, 1949 he married Catherine Starone who died in 2012. He served in the Army during World War II. He was retired from NYC Department of Corrections as a Correction Officer and was then Director of Buildings for the Jewish Guild for the Blind. He is survived by his daughter, Laura, and her husband, Salvatore; his son, Anthony and wife, Gloria and grandchildren: Daniel and Anthony Fasulo, Anthony Romito and Ellen Romito Scott and her husband, Bryan and Amy Romito. He has two great grandchildren: Abigail and James Scott. He is predeceased by his son, James Romito, Chief of Police, PA who was killed on 9/11 in the World Trade Center and his grandson, Robert Romito who died in an auto accident. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Matthew and Vincent. Visiting will be Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home, 726 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11:15am at Our Lady of Solace Church, Bronx, New York.
