Anthony Keon Stewart, 15, of Lexington, passed away on Thursday, February 16,
2023 at the University of Kentucky hospital after a tragic accident.
Keon was born on October 8, 2007 to Rolonda Sanford and Jeffery Simpson in
Lexington, KY. As a young boy, Keon professed his love for Jesus Christ and was
baptized at Historic Pleasant Green. Keon loved playing sports with his friends and
teammates. Even as a kid, Keon was a natural athlete and had a passion for
whatever sport he played. He quickly became one of the best players on any team, whether it be baseball, football, or basketball. He was always smiling, always
laughing, and loved to play jokes and dance. Keon was also a loving father and we
know that his son will truly miss him.
Keon was predeceased by his maternal great grandparents Anna Howard, Aaron L.
Knowles, Nathaniel and Josephine Sanford, paternal great grandparents Betty
Carol Simpson and Johnny Beckham, and Steven “Charlie” Robinson. He is
survived by his son, Keontae Stewart, his parents, Rolonda Sanford and Jeffery
Simpson, special friend Bryanna Robertson, grandparents, Tina and James Boxx,
Robert Sanford, Sr., Cynthia Simpson, Jeffery Allen, and Cheryl Taylor. His
siblings Jeffery Simpson, Sariah Robinson, and Jamari Carol Simpson. His aunts
and uncles Byron Smith, Derricka Robinson, Jermaine Sanford, Kimshasa Jackson,
Lamar Kennedy, LaShonda Brank, LaToyia Simpson Ugwu, Robert Sanford, Jr.,
and Salina Simpson. Along with a host of great aunts/uncles, cousins, and friends
that loved him dearly.
Keon's sudden death was a shock to everyone who knew him. He was healthy,
happy, and had his whole life ahead of him. His death is a reminder that life is
precious and can be taken from us at any time. We should all cherish the moments
we have with our loved ones, and never take them for granted
