Anthony "Ant" Jed Tricarico, 16, of Cardiff by the Sea, CA, passed away on May 25th, 2024, in San Diego, CA. He was born on August 4th, 2007 in Encinitas, to Neal and Samara Tricarico.

Ant is known for his sweet and dedicated nature, fun-loving personality, and charismatic character. He has a wise, empathetic and good-natured spirit, coupled with a great sense of humor. Ant can be described as very intelligent, extremely disciplined, and filled with faith. He was attentive and generous and sought to make others feel happy, included and loved. His bright blue eyes, charming smile, and witty disposition were magnetic.

In his educational journey, Ant attended Peterson Montessori, Central Montessori, Bella Mente Montessori Academy, and Community Montessori Charter School. He later attended San Dieguito Academy where he excelled in honors and AP courses and joined the National Society of High School Scholars.

Ant worked in the warehouse for Medieval Metals and as a Food Server at Ki's Restaurant in Cardiff. He also worked as a Summer Camp Counselor in Lake Tahoe.

Outside of work and school, he was dedicated to extreme physical fitness, placing in both marathon and spartan races. He became a Junior Black Belt in karate, competed in jiu jitsu and rock climbing, and recently started boxing. As an outdoorsman he loved fishing, diving, snow boarding and camping and was also proud to be a part of his arena soccer team. His creativity shined in areas of entrepreneurship and screen printing. He was passionate about bringing groups together and "hosting" friends for social bonfires, BBQs, and s'mores. He enjoyed youth group, video games, chill time, traveling, psychology, family game nights, his dog Kiwi, and eating healthy foods.

Ant was extremely well loved, will be deeply missed and will live on forever in our hearts. He is survived by his parents Neal and Samara Tricarico, his sister Bellina, his grandparents Vince and Dolores Tricarico and Steve and Flora Thomsen, along with numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Douglas Jeddy Houston.

Celebration of Life to be held in the afternoon of August 4, 2024 in Encinitas, CA.

Ant's family and friends will always cherish and be blessed by the memories they shared with this kind, brilliant, soulful young man. His force, "Forza Ant", will forever remain with all of those touched by his short but impactful life. May he now rest eternally in peace and love.

He was so kind to everyone. His younger peers wanted to be him & he always made sure to be a great role model. He helped us run lessons & he was so full of life. Such a light to everyone.

Anthony was a role model and cherished cousin for our boys. We all miss him like crazy and will never get over the fact that he is gone. He had endless love and patience for his younger cousins. Josiah and Noah have the funniest and fondest memories of their time with Ant. He always included and looked out for them.

Dear Neal and Samara,
I was heartbroken for you when Vince let us know about Anthony. Having lost a sister at a young age, I know how difficult it is for the family to move forward in life. But I am sure that is what Ant would want you to do, remembering and embracing his kindheartedness and many amazing accomplishments. My thoughts, prayers and sincere condolences go out to you all.

Hi Neal,
I'm so sorry to hear about your son. My heart goes out to you and your wife Samara. Although I never met Ant I am sure he had a heart of gold. No parent should have to go through the loss of a child. Stay strong and take care!

Ant was one of the most inspirational kids i´ve ever met. His drive for great health and unfazed goal to make others comfortable touched my heart. He was generous enough to give us kids the ideal high school experience. I´m forever grateful for the way he has changed me. He was there for me always and I will forever cherish our talks and the way he always made me feel loved. I strive to be the best person I can be for him.

What an extraordinary young man you both raised. Incredible parents and even in such a short time he left a legacy to remind us all of how to live. Sending you all peace and strength at this very difficult time. Your words are so beautiful and his life should be celebrated daily for what he has taught us all, in proximity, in person, at a distance and through your memories of him. God bless you all
