Lola Green
06/13/1947 - 07/12/2025
Lola Green received her passport to Heaven on July 12, 2025 after suffering a brief illness. Lola was born June 13, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles and Penelope Green. She spent the major portion of her life in Midland, Texas working for the Midland Fire Dept. She moved to Lincoln County in 2005 where she worked for the Village of Ruidoso. She traveled to Navarre, Florida to become a care giver for her father. Upon his death she moved back to Lincoln County where she resided with her sister in Ruidoso Downs until her passing.
Lola was kind, compassionate and generous, and known for her unconditional love of animals. They were her fur-babies and when meeting people her first few questions would be "How's Pickles or Fuzzy?" Lola was passionate about causes she believed in and was especially sympathetic to disabled veterans of war and dogs used to assist people in various avenues of service. She could be counted on by her friends and appreciative of those who helped her. She was the person everyone wanted as a friend. Lola enjoyed reading, keeping up with family occasions, lively conversations about politics and spending hours crocheting goodies for her family and friends.
Lola is survived by her daughter Peggy Green of Kansas City, Mo., her sister Peggy Lu Jane Holman and her husband Dean of Ruidoso Downs, N.M., a half-sister Shirley Flores and her family of Navarre, Fla., a nephew Antonio Centeno and his family of Wittenberg, Wis., a nephew Tomas Centeno and his family of Clarksville, Tenn., a niece Lindsey Seales, and her family of Longview, Wash. She had bragging rights for a total of thirteen nephews and nieces, and left many friends who will forever miss her physical presence.
Memorial services will be held at a later date to accommodate travel of all the family.
