Antoinette Core

Antoinette (Scoppetuolo) Core, 87, of Livingston passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009. A Funeral Mass is Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Theresa's R.C. Church, 306 Morris Ave. in Summit. Entombment is at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave. (Route 23), Cedar Grove. Born and raised in Newark, Mrs. Core lived in Maplewood and Union for many years before moving to Livingston 14 years ago. She worked at the family business with her father, and then took over Fashion Sport Coat in Newark, with her husband, retiring 19 years ago. Mrs. Core was the beloved wife to the late Frank Core. She was the devoted mother to Barbara Garibaldi and her late husband, Joseph J. III, and Deborah Auriema and her husband, Jack; cherished grandmother to Joseph IV and his wife, Marianne, Michael and his wife, Whitney, Kimberly and her husband, Samuel Jr., Jack Jr., and Jenna; great-grandmother to Joseph V, Matthew, Samuel III, Natalie, and Marena, and dear sister to Dr. Michael H. Scoppetuolo, and also to the late Anthony Scoppetuolo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 95 Old Short Hills Rd., 1st Floor, West Orange, N.J. 07052.
