SIMONELLI _ Antonio (Tony) 1944 - 2006 Passed peacefully with loved ones by his side, at the Foothills Hospital on Saturday, September 2, 2006, after a brief battle with lung cancer. Much loved husband of Christine; honored father of Tony (Maryann), Lori (Todd and Lauren) and Riccardo (Amanda); dear brother of Larry (Franca) and brother-in-law of Pat (Garry) and Terry. Beloved cousin, "Maresciallo" of Carlo (Erika), Domenic (Julie), Amedeo (Nicoletta), Giulio (Laura), Anna (Mario), Lou (Diana), Susy (Giorgio), Renata; adoring uncle to many nieces and nephews. Friend to many. Tony will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by friends and relatives in Canada and Italy. His generous nature and lively spirit will continue to live on through his family. Many thanks for the well wishes, prayers and support for Tony throughout his fight. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the emergency and nursing staff at the Foothills Hospital and to the caregivers at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. Thank you for helping make Tony's last moments peaceful. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Visitation at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Thursday, September 7, 2006 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 404 Northmount Place N.W., Calgary on Friday, September 8, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. with Interment to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. Donations to the Alberta Lung Association, P.O. Box 4500, Station South, Edmonton, AB T6E 6K2, would be greatly acknowledged by the family, in lieu of flowers.
