Cheers Tony - thanks for all the letters and your books. Never mind arguing, pass the hammer, eh? Best wishes to Annis.

I am in the process of writing my Dissertation on Perspectives of Near-Death Experiences and Death Bed Visions and am using Professor Flew's views on Human Sensory Experiences coupled with Dr. Jean Watson's Nursing Model of Human Care. I will do my best to honor the essence of Professor Flew in my writings of my Dissertation. Linda Moore (Texas A & M University ~ Corpus Christi)

What sad news. I remember not just his philosophy but also his kindness. I first read Flew's writings as a teenager just beginning to get interested in philosophy. I remember sending him a few pages of what must have been terrible stuff that I had written--by hand, of course--in reaction to one of them. He replied with a charming letter, and was thoughtful enough to include my manuscript, which he rightly surmised was my only copy. Several years later, after I had won a prize for philosophy at university, he was kind enough to send me a congratulatory postcard.

My condolences to those he leaves behind.
