MY DAD
Dad i feel sad that we never had the closeness that maybe we should have ,but my love and respect to you ,please never doubt.
I named my little Archie in honour of you ,and gave his secound name in honour of your wife and my mum June, this week has made me think of you in the most positive memories that have strangley come flooding into my dreams and thoughts, like when i was a toddler you rescued me from drowning in the deep end of warners holiday park swimming pool, I've not thought about any of these times before now, i guess thats how the human spirit is.
I just want to say to you, despite our distance ,you gave me the drive and disipline to be the man i am today ,who is the happiest ive ever been, ive cryed more over us and our relationship then i ever imagined ,but this is not through guilt or regret ,because ,i know i never displayed to you that i needed you ,but thats how ive learnt to cope so please forgive me for this.
Like mum used to say to me , He loves you he just dosent show it ,WELL I'VE ALWAYS LOVED YOU DAD ,and i didnt show it ,so we have that to look forward to now thats out in the open ,in spirit at least ,which im more then happy to settle for..
Your everloving son
Gary
