Archie Davis Obituary

In Loving Memory

Archie M. Davis, Sr., 83, passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side on March 1, 2024.

He was born on May 4, 1940 to parents Curtis and Irene Davis.

Archie lived a life filled with passion and purpose. He dedicated his life to being a beloved son, brother, husband, father, friend, and mentor. The simplest pleasures in life brought him great joy. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed nature of any kind. He mastered the art of butchery at a very young age and raised his family doing so.

He had a gift of always making everyone feel welcomed. He loved having family and friends around, playing games and showing off his amazing barbecuing skills.

Most of all, Archie always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. He had an infectious laugh and was strong, yet gentle. As an amazing story teller, we would request his stories over and again. He was a man of strong convictions and the rock of his family.

Archie was predeceased in death by his parents Curtis and Irene Davis and brother Curtis Davis Jr.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Barbara Davis, his beloved children Ron Davis, Greg Davis, Beverly Davis Berryman, Archie Davis Jr., Michael Lawson, Sheri Lawson, Julie Lawson Coddington, and their respective spouses. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren who will forever cherish his memory.

Archie will be deeply missed and never forgotten. May he rest in peace knowing his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held on April 7th, 2024 starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall (KC Hall) located at 2655 FM 1488, Conroe, Texas 77384. All are welcome.

I remember the first time I met Archie at the bowl. Shook his firm hand and greeting with that BIG smile. From then on, each time we met, we exchanged handshakes and pleasantries...shared a few words. I would tell him "...Archie you're lookin' good...gettin' back down to fightin' weight." He would give me that big grin of his. I cannot believe that he has passed, but he is in a much better place now and the pain is gone. See you one day MY DEAR FRIEND. I truly share your grief, Barbara. Hand tuff and hope to see you back at TTS soon. So much love I send to you. BillyBob
