Unfortunately i didnt know my uncle Arch very well. In my younger years I would see my uncle Arch, aunt Barb and my cousins during family gatherings and holidays, at my grandparents in Montesano and at Wynoochee Wildwood. One of the most memorable memories I have of him was the first thing that he would do when he saw me would be to give me a gentle clench on my upper shoulder and ask me if I was playing any sports, mainly basketball. I remember my father loved talking about fishing with him. My mom told me that he was known to many as Clem. I lost touch with that side of my family, after uncontrollable circumstances. My heart goes out to my Aunt Barb, my cousins and their families.

Archie was a wonderful friend and a great neighbor. We will miss his warm smile and fun sense of humor. As well as his delicious home grown vegetables. We will remember him when the dahlias are blooming from the bulbs he gave us. And he was always such a gentleman. He will be dearly missed. We wish you, Barb, and your family God's blessing of peace and comfort at his passing.

Archie and Barbara have been our wonderful neighbors for many years. Archie always had a smile and a wave when he was mowing his field. He will be missed.

I replaced Archie as the principal at Tahoma High School. Fortunately for me I had the great fortune to work as his Assistant Principal for the two previous years. As a young administer I learned more from him in two years than most people learn in a career. We still tell Archie stories, share his wisdom and see his influence throughout our school.
Few people are bigger than life, Archie is in that few.
He may be gone but his legend will live on
RIP Archie

Archie was the best principal a teacher could have--he had high expectations, but was always caring and supportive. Every morning before classes began, he wandered the halls of Auburn High School, stopping by (always with a smile) to say hello to each of us as we prepared for the day. He made me feel valued and empowered to strive to be my best and grow as a teacher. A wonderful boss and a treasured friend who will be sorely missed.

In my senior year I was coach's teacher's assistant. He was so much fun to work with. I didn't care for history, but he made it interesting. My prayers are with his family.

Mr. McCallum was my all time favorite teacher. He was my 8th grade teacher and my US History high school teacher. He made learning fun. Sending our thoughts and prayers to the McCallum family. Archie was such an amazing person with a gift of positive leadership and a passion for education. He roamed the halls of Auburn High School with a smile and kind message every day. I enjoyed his ability to inspire students to be their best and strive for excellence. My father spoke highly of Archie and enjoyed working side-by-side as a vice principal. Thinking of you and your family and hoping for peace within your heart and soul. RIP Archie

Mr. McCallum was one of the first people to welcome me to Auburn HS. I moved there as a Junior and it was a tough transition. He was very encouraging and kind. Rest in Peace Mr. M.

I was sad to learn the passing of Archie McCallum. He was one of my teachers at Timberline and also the basketball coach. (That I remember) He also taught and coached my two older brothers at North Thurston. I often wondered about him through the years. I knew he went to Auburn but after that I'd lost track. My heart goes out to all who knew and loved him, especially his family.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. McCallum. He was a great teacher, administrator, coach, and person. He was a favorite teacher of many North Thurston students in our class of 1964. He was also a great coach and I have many great memories of the drills he would make us run on the basketball court. It was always great to see and talk with him at our class reunions. I was also fortunate to get to visit with him when my daughter's basketball team would play Auburn High School. He was such a positive influence on many of us and will be sorely missed. Archie was a stand up guy. When things were wrong, he said so. He also was a great example to the young people he worked with in the classroom and on the athletic field. He was an exceptional principal. The world was a little better because Mr. McCallum was there.

It is with sadness that my husband, Bill and I, heard that Mr. McCallum passed away. We were students at North Thurston High School. Mr. McCallum was a favorite teacher of many and was well respected. He made a positive impact on the lives of hundreds of students. He took the time to attend many of our "Class of 64 & 65 Reunions." He always had some great memories and words of wisdom to share. Our sincere condolences are extended to his family.
