Archie Gerald Smith, age 84, died peacefully November 23, 2023 surrounded by his loving wife and family. Archie, also known as Dad, Papa, and Jerry, was born September 29th, 1939 in Yuba City, CA, and was raised by Archie Forrest and Gladys Harriett Smith. He was happily married to Sally Ellen Smith for 64 adventurous years.

Archie loved nature, music, and was a man of many talents. He enjoyed hiking, backpacking, fly fishing, scuba diving, wind gliding, and playing guitar. His adventurous spirit and love for nature and music was passed down to his kids and grandkids.

Archie is survived by his wife Sally, his son Mark (Maria), predeceased son Matt (Michelle), sister Jeannie, grandkids; Nicholas (Amanda), Samantha (Robby), Benjamin (Cheyenne), Forrest (Keyrsten), Chase, and Riley, great-grandkids; Sophia, Emma, Luke, and Lily.

At the request of Archie, there will be no funeral services. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

I worked with Jerry in the PG&E Marysville Telecom Shop. Super good and fun person. He worked to bring up the 800Mhz trunked radio system in the north valley, used by all PG&E crews. Rest in Peace Archie...
