Mr. de Jong, you are missed and will be forever thought about. I am more than grateful, having had the opportunity to sit down with you and your lovely wife, to have lunch and enjoy the day, during the Veteran's Stand Down some years ago. I never forgot how happy and funny you and your wife were. What's even funnier, is that I was oblivious to the fact that the Veteran's Stand Down was being held at Green Acres, in Vista..and it was you and your family's establishment. I know you had a ticket straight to heaven, and the memories you left behind will be remembered for all time. Keep Shining, Mr. de Jong.
Sincerely,
Jacqueline V. Williams

I met Arie when I was 16 working for Coast Waste Management on Ponto drive. His smile would make you smile. If he didn´t like something you were doing he was still smiling. Years later I worked and lived on the Melrose Ranch where he gave me the opportunity to work with him again. He was mentor a father figure and very funny man with so many stories. I am deeply sadden to hear of his passing. Thank you to the de Jong family for all your grace and God Spoed to you all.

I knew Arie from being part of his medical team years ago. I remember there was another patient that needed a life saving surgery, but needed a deposit and didn´t have the funds. Our medical assistance asked Arie if he could help. He said call Margaret and tell her I said to cut a check! That´s how he was. Caring, compassionate, generous.
I was fortunate to have known him...
Condolences to his dear family.
